Lawyer Spotlight: Meet Tyler Melton
Tyler Melton joined The Hopkins Law Firm in August 2022. He is a strong addition to our legal team because of his analytical legal mind, his problem solving abilities, and his passion for finding the best solutions for his client’s individual needs. His love of the legal field is evident, and it brings his best to the table for each case he handles.
Tyler’s favorite cases to handle are custody and visitation cases. He has a passion for helping clients navigate the uncertainties that accompany these cases. He has a big heart for children, evidenced by the time he spent volunteering for the Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA) program during law school.
During his law school tenure, Tyler interned in his hometown Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office. He also participated in his school’s law journal where he acted as Executive Editor and published his own note in his final year of law school.
Clients note that Tyler communicates effectively, and he offers a compassionate listening ear. He brings a positive energy to conversations and is always enthusiastic about their cases.
Tyler truly understands that divorces and cases of custody and visitation matters are difficult for everyone involved. He does his best to help clients from his position as a lawyer; he is there for them during this trying time in their lives, advocating for the best legal solution for their individual needs, so that they may restart life on the other side of their case from the best possible position.
Tyler graduated from the Appalachian School of Law in May 2022. His favorite courses to study in law school were the trial preparation courses; he enjoyed the hands-on feel of the legal process, and he says that these courses greatly prepared him for working in family law.
